North White and Tri-County are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Vikings are taking a road trip to square off against the Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North White is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
North White fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Caston on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comets.

Kaylyn Applegate was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 18 batters over nine innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Applegate wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Raelynn Anliker, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Another was Hanna Hunt, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Tri-County hadn't done well against Rossville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cavaliers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Hornets. The game was the first time the Cavaliers have beaten the Hornets on their field since April 11, 2019.
Madilyn Nevitt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on 15 hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Grace Luck, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Jayden Martin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
The win made it two in a row for Tri-County and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for North White, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
North White might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Tri-County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
