3A Region II District 14 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Crandall moved up to 607 from 702 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region II District 14. The Pirates were able to make the jump by beating Wilmer-Hutchins 29-14.
Ford and Bonham played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Ford eventually emerging with a 21-18 victory. Taylor Sikorsky ran for 127 yards and caught one passes for 36 yards in the win.
Kaden Wallace put up the best numbers through the air as the Panthers beat the Warriors. He finished with one completions for 36 yards and one touchdown.
Jah Golden was the best wideout in the league this week as Wills Point lost to Princeton. Golden racked up four receptions for 42 yards. Tre' Smith helped Wills Point's passing attack out by catching two balls for 13 yards.
The Tigers' Chase Pemberton and Smith have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 3A Region II District 14 in both passing and receiving yards. Pemberton has thrown for 1280 yards this season, while Smith, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 31 catches for 518 yards. Sikorsky from Ford leads the league in rushing with 843 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Todd Wallace's team takes on Wills Point. As it stands, the Panthers are in first, while Kevin Garvin's team is in third.
There should be lots of points scored when Ford and the Tigers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Panthers comes in having scored 181 this season, while Wills Point has scored 151. Ford scored 21 points last week as it topped Bonham.
Kaufman led the league in scoring this week after putting up 31 points on Mexia.
