Baseball Recap: Westtown Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Westtown not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 6, 2024. They blew past the Collegium Charter Cougar 17-8. Westtown has beaten Collegium Charter the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Collegium Charter has come to flipping the script.

Aidan Eager was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Eager was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other pitching news, Forrest Mojica looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Young, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Francisco Benbow, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Westtown hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Collegium Charter struck out 13 times.

Westtown pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Collegium Charter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westtown will welcome Solebury at 12:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Collegium Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Faith Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Cougar's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
