Tinora and Swanton are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2023, but likely not for long. The Rams will head out to square off against the Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Thursday, it was close, but Tinora sidestepped Miller City for a 12-10 win.
Madison Spangler was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alexia Rios, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Tinora kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 7-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Elmwood typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Swanton proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Royals 16-9. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by seven runs or more this season.
Carli LaGrange was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Glonek, who went 2-for-5 with two triples, two RBI, and one run.
Swanton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tinora, their record now sits at 7-15.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Tinora hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Swanton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
