The Romulus Eagles lost against the Summit Academy Dragons back in October of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Romulus fell 17-8 to Summit Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Romulus in their matchups with Summit Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Romulus' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lamar Mallard, who gained 111 total yards, and Torrence Searcy who threw for 58 yards and a touchdown. Mallard was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.
Romulus' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Summit Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Romulus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Summit Academy will head out on the road to face off against Flat Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
