This season hasn't been kind to the West Jefferson Buccaneers, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They took a 25-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of Landry on Saturday.
Despite the loss, West Jefferson saw an underclassman step up: Jala Raymond scored 6 points.
West Jefferson bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Landry, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Jefferson will challenge McDonogh 35 at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. McDonogh 35 comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Landry will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on John Ehret at 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
