The Prattville Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 71-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hale County. While losing is never fun, Prattville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Hale County is ranked 52nd).
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Xavier Dunn, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Ty Bryant was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with four steals.
Prattville's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-18. As for Hale County, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Prattville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Percy Julian at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. Hale County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th.
