Boron hasn't had much luck against Bishop Union recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Friday, Boron beat Kern Valley 46-38. Considering the Bobcats' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Andrew Gartica was his usual excellent self, picking up 208 receiving yards and two scores, while also rushing for 67 yards and one TD on only five carries. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August of 2024. Jalen York also helped out by tossing the rock for 347 yards.
Meanwhile, Bishop Union entered their tilt with Rosamond on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Roadrunners 62-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Broncos' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while the Roadrunners are ranked 867th).
Bishop Union's win came from a few key players Boron will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hunter Dailey, who rushed for 96 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. Another player making a difference was Emory Dondero, who threw for 176 yards and a pair of TDs.
Bishop Union didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Elliott Douda, Dom Barlow, David Smith, and Noah Castellanos picked up one apiece. Douda got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The win got Boron back to even at 3-3. As for Bishop Union, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Gartica and Dailey. Gartica just won't slow down this season and has run in 2 touchdowns while averaging 48 rushing yards per game. Dailey has been a dominant force too and has run in 5 touchdowns while averaging 82.7 rushing yards per game.
Boron was taken down by Bishop Union 34-6 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bobcats were down 27-0.
