The biggest upset of the week belonged to Highlands, who took down 635th ranked Bradshaw Christian, 61-27. John Abalos threw for 303 yards and one touchdown and ran for 200 yards in the win.
The Scots moved up to 676 from 743 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Sierra Delta. Highlands was able to make move up by beating the Pride 61-27.
Bradshaw Christian's dynamic duo of Kevin Williams and Luis Romero proved tough for Matt Cokley's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Williams threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns and Romero had 118 yards receiving. Kyle Betts helped Bradshaw Christian's passing attack out by catching six balls for 57 yards.
Drew Rickert's team's Williams and Romero have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Williams has thrown for 870 yards this season, while Romero, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 22 catches for 391 yards. Rio Vista's Chace Marlowe leads the league in rushing yards with 1176.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Scots take on Vacaville Christian. Highlands is in third place, while the Falcons are in first place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Golden Sierra takes on Encina Prep. The Grizzlies have allowed 168 points this season, while the Bulldogs have given up 129. Golden Sierra allowed 7 points last week as it topped the Rams.
John Hilton's team extended the longest winning streak in Sierra Delta this week by beating Rio Vista, 55-7. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Grizzlies.
