It was a good run, but The Provo Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 27-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Payson. The contest was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but Provo was outscored by Payson in the second.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyle Larsen, who picked up 134 receiving yards and a touchdown. Larsen was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 67 yards. Another player making a difference was Feitagai Lesa, who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown.
The critical scores for Payson came from Dylan Wall and Lincoln Ewell.
One reason for the win was Payson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Leading the way was Owen Cottle and his three sacks.
Provo's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Payson, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Provo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Payson also has no future games currently scheduled.
