Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Drexel/Miami should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They and Midway go head to head at 7:00 PM in their first playoff game of the year. Drexel/Miami will be looking to avenge the 6-38 loss they took the last time these two teams played.
Drexel/Miami have been struggling to pick up a victory, with their contest against Liberal/Bronaugh last Friday making it five winless games in a row. Drexel/Miami were completely outmatched, falling 12-52 to Liberal/Bronaugh. Drexel/Miami got a solid performance out of senior Cole Barnhart, who passed for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory.
Meanwhile, Midway won the matchup and then some against Butler, taking the matchup 34-7.
Midway's win lifted them to 10-0 while Drexel/Miami's defeat dropped them down to 1-8. Midway's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Drexel/Miami defensive front that amassed five sacks against Liberal/Bronaugh, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
