Slaton took down Lamesa 34-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Idalou led 2A-1 Region I District 2 in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on Brownfield. Koal Houchin ran for 185 yards and caught one passes for 11 yards in the win.
The Tornadoes' dynamic duo of Ramon Arguellas and Ryan Garza proved tough for the Tigers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Arguellas threw for 43 yards and one touchdown and Garza had 82 yards receiving. Jahlahni Edwards helped Lamesa's passing attack out by catching two balls for 10 yards.
Lamesa's Kolt Moreland and Brody Alexandar have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Moreland has thrown for 1781 yards this season, while Alexandar has 36 catches for 636 yards. Houchin from the Wildcats leads the league in rushing with 708 yards.
Idalou made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,361 from 1,447. The improvement was the result of 35-7 victory over the Cubs last week.
