Streetsboro hasn't had much luck against Field recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rockets will challenge the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Streetsboro made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cloverleaf, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rockets put the hurt on the Colts with a sharp 12-2 win on Monday. While the Rockets didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Amy Rein spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Khloe Cutright and Ella Simpson did most of the damage at the plate: Cutright went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Simpson got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Knepper, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Streetsboro lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Field came tearing into Monday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Ravens 18-3. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won four matches by 13 runs or more so far this season.
Field pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Streetsboro, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Streetsboro might still be hurting after the 16-1 loss they got from Field in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Rockets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
