The Wiley Panthers won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 68-42 loss at the hands of Syracuse. It was the first time this season that Wiley let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Wiley still got an impressive performance from Evan Larrick, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rhett McDonald, who scored six points along with two steals.
Wiley's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-7. As for Syracuse, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.
Wiley will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cheyenne Wells is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games. As for Syracuse, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Elkhart will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 64th).
