KIPP College Prep will challenge Kingsman Academy on the road at 2:00 PM on Saturday. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, KIPP College Prep now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
It was all tied up at halftime, but KIPP College Prep weren't quite National Collegiate Prep's equal in the second half when they met last Saturday. KIPP College Prep didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 14-18 to National Collegiate Prep. Despite the defeat, KIPP College Prep saw an underclassman step up: Sophomore Joh'quel Mcqueen passed for 147 yards and 2 touchdowns. In fact, with nine tackles Harris was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, Kingsman Academy put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They were the clear victor by a 28-0 margin over Richard Wright Public Charter School. The rankings were on Kingsman Academy's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result.
Kingsman Academy's victory lifted them to 7-1 while KIPP College Prep's loss dropped them down to 4-4. Kingsman Academy's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a KIPP College Prep defensive front that amassed five sacks against National Collegiate Prep, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
