The University Charter Trail Blazers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 74-32 loss at the hands of Bibb County. While losing is never fun, University Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Bibb County is ranked 136th).
University Charter's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrez Bell, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jaylan Austin, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
University Charter's loss was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-12. As for Bibb County, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University Charter will stay at home for another game and welcome Linden at 7:00 p.m. on January 2nd. Linden is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Bibb County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Sipsey Valley at 5:30 p.m.
