The Moffat Cowboys and the Sierra Grande Panthers will face off at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
Moffat lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Saturday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by Creede on the road and fell 63-33. Moffat has struggled against Creede recently, as their game on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Sierra Grande scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They really took it to Antonito for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-19 win at home. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Sierra Grande had established a 29 point advantage.
Sierra Grande's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaylyn Quezada, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals. Quezada has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Alexia Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Moffat's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Sierra Grande, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
