La Joya has gone 9-1 against Economedes recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Coyotes will head out to face off against the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (La Joya has three straight wins, Economedes has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
La Joya is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Edinburg North 18-3 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Coyotes, who have now won eight matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Gael Zambrano and Samuel De Leon did most of the damage at the plate: Zambrano went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while De Leon went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Zambrano a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ivan Marron, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
They weren't the only one making solid contact: La Joya kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Economedes took on Edinburg on Friday. The Jaguars took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats. That's two games in a row now that the Jaguars have lost by exactly three runs.
Josiah Villareal put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Villareal wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gilbert Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
La Joya's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Economedes, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.
Economedes' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: La Joya hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. It's a different story for Economedes, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain La Joya's hitters?
La Joya took their victory against Economedes in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Coyotes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
