In what's become a running theme this season, the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They blew past River Valley 59-12 on the road. With Yuma Catholic ahead 35-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Amanda Wiley was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Wiley is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Briyanna Pisano was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Yuma Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for River Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yuma Catholic will take on Tonopah Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tonopah Valley comes in still looking for their first win of the season. River Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against American Leadership Academy - West Foothills at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th.
