The Blue Ridge Christian Warriors's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against Applewood Christian by a score of 59-49. Given Blue Ridge Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while Applewood Christian is ranked 449th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Blue Ridge Christian was led to victory by Kaleb Price and Mekhi Jones. Price almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds, while Jones scored 22 points along with three steals. Price hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for four straight games. Pennbrook Shaver was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Blue Ridge Christian's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Applewood Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Blue Ridge Christian will take on Providence Classical Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Applewood Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
