Jackson Prep extended the longest winning streak in MAIS AAA I District 2 this week by beating Madison-Ridgeland Academy, 24-21. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Patriots.
Jackson Prep and the Patriots played the most contested game in the league this week, with Jackson Prep eventually emerging with a 24-21 victory. Gene Wood threw for 227 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.
Ricky Black's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Ian McGraw contributed 69 yards. Parker Caracci helped Jackson Prep's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 67 yards.
He went 16-31 with 1 interception.
Wood put up the best numbers in passing as the Patriots topped Madison-Ridgeland Academy. Wood's favorite target this week was Zach Williams, who caught 7 passes for 115 yards.
Jackson Prep's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wood has thrown for 1,547 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Williams has 29 catches for 567 yards.
Parklane Academy made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,570 from 4,691.
