Basketball Recap: St. Helens Beats Seaside for Their Third Straight Win

St. Helens won against Scappoose on Thursday with 56 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The St. Helens Lions beat the Seaside Seagulls by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 56-23. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 23 points or more this season.

The victory (which was St. Helens' third in a row) raised their record to 13-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points over those games. As for Seaside, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-7.

Coincidentally, St. Helens and Seaside will both be playing Astoria the next time they take the court. Seaside will head out to face Astoria at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while St. Helens will host them at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
