Walkertown has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the West Stokes Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Walkertown has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 485 points over their last seven games.
On Wednesday, Walkertown strolled past Thomasville with points to spare, taking the game 64-47. Given Walkertown's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Thomasville is ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jaden Tyson, who scored 15 points along with three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Jaylen Wilkerson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, even though McMichael scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, West Stokes still came out on top. West Stokes took their match against McMichael 75-63.
Walkertown pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for West Stokes, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Walkertown came out on top in a nail-biter against West Stokes in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 45-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Walkertown since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
