The Biggs Wolverines lost against the Hamilton Braves back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Biggs took a 34-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hamilton.
Biggs' lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zach Smith, who rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Brady Smith, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Even if they lost, Biggs' defensive line still kept up the pressure with eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Thomas Job and Skyler Long who racked up seven sacks between them.
Hamilton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kayden Strong led the charge by picking up 147 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 49 yards and two touchdowns. Strong's longest reception was for an incredible 82 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Sanchez, who threw for 316 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per attempt.
Biggs' loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Hamilton, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Biggs will take on Willows at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Willows is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Hamilton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Shasta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
