There's no place like home for the Omaha Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 53-46 win over Green Forest on Thursday. This was payback for Omaha, who suffered a 74-51 loss the last time these two teams met.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zak Watson, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Watson scored a full 32.6% of Green Forest's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Hesten Maybee was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Omaha's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Green Forest, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
Omaha will be playing in front of their home fans against Deer at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Green Forest won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Strong at 11:20 a.m. on December 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arkansas (Strong is ranked 199th, while Green Forest is ranked 203rd).
