The Lejeune Devil Pups can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They had just enough and edged Jones out 37-34. The win was just what Lejeune needed coming off of a 61-27 loss in their prior contest.
Shyanne Bryant continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lejeune's points. Scarlett McLean was another key contributor, scoring a point along with 13 steals and five rebounds.
Lejeune's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-15. As for Jones, they dropped their record down to 3-19 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lejeune will square off against Southside at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lejeune focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday. As for Jones, they will head out on the road to face off against Pamlico County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
