The Hammond Skyhawks stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 45-25 margin over Augusta Christian. Given Hammond's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 26th in South Carolina, while Augusta Christian is ranked 90th in Georgia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Augusta Christian still got an impressive performance from Ryley Jolly, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Avery Schwarz, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Hammond pushed their record up to 11-4 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.9 points. As for Augusta Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hammond will take on Ben Lippen at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Ben Lippen is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Augusta Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Peachtree Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
