Dilley hasn't had much luck against Hondo recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wolves will be playing at home against the Owls at 4:30 p.m. Hondo took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Dilley, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Dilley turned things around against Poteet on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Aggies. The Wolves not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 26th (when they won 3-0).
The final score came out to 25-11, 25-18, 25-13.
Meanwhile, Hondo came up short against Crystal City on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Owls have struggled against the Javelinas recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Hondo was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Crystal City work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-22, 25-21.
Dilley will have to keep a close watch on Araceli Fernandez and Ava Lowe, a pair of players who had a big impact on Hondo's prior game. Fernandez had 18 digs and one assist, while Lowe had ten digs and two aces.
Hondo's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Dilley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-15.
