Ninety Six had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Fairfield Central Griffins 16-1 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Katie Fortner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Evie Montgomery was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Ninety Six always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairfield Central only posted an OBP of .250.

The victory (which was Ninety Six's third in a row) raised their record to 12-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Fairfield Central, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-11.
