Providence School is 10-0 against Hilliard since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Providence School Stallions will take on the Hilliard Red Flashes at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Tuesday, everything went Providence School's way against Ponte Vedra as Providence School made off with a 60-37 win. Given the Stallions' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Sharks are ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Providence School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kasey Davey, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Davey has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Janai Jordan, who went 5 for 6 on her way to 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Providence School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Hilliard came tearing into Monday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Spartans 59-34.
Providence School better focus on containing Molly Dean and Alyssa Hallman as the pair were huge in Hilliard's win. Dean almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine steals, while Hallman went 8 of 15 en route to 19 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Justice Alderman, who posted eight points.
Providence School's victory was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.1 points per game. As for Hilliard, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Providence School has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 32.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Hilliard struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Providence School against Hilliard in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 57-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Providence School since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
