The North Iredell Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge the Foard Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Iredell is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
North Iredell lost a heartbreaker the last time they played North Surry, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's match. The Raiders put the hurt on the Greyhounds with a sharp 13-6 victory on Wednesday. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Jay Brookshire was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Will Oehler, who fired off two home runs, three RBI, and one double while going 4-for-5. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Thomas Shumaker was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
North Iredell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Foard had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Bunker Hill by a score of 11-8 on Tuesday.
Landon Setzer was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Foard: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Duckworth, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
North Iredell's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Foard, their record now sits at 5-15.
Foard's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: North Iredell hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. It's a different story for Foard, though, as they've only averaged .191. Will they be able to contain North Iredell's hitters?
North Iredell might still be hurting after the 9-3 loss they got from Foard in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
