Lewiston-Porter had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 1-6 to make it eight. They came up short against the Niagara Falls Wolverines, falling 7-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-4 last Tuesday.
Lewiston-Porter saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Jorgensen, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Brayden VanEgmond was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
As for Niagara Falls, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.
On Niagara Falls' side, Nicholas Ligammari was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave Ligammari a new career-high. Anthony Savino also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
