The Wells Leopards are on the road again on Thursday and play against the Pahranagat Valley Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on December 14th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Wells is ranked 52nd, while Pahranagat Valley is ranked 74th).
Last Saturday, Wells lost to Intermountain Christian on the road by a decisive 55-40 margin.
Wells' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lillian Harney, who scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds, and Khloe DelRio who scored 15 points. The game was Harney's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Liz Rivera-Casas, who scored 2 points along with 6 assists and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Pahranagat Valley's 16-5-1 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell just short of Round Mountain by a score of 31-29.
The losses dropped Wells to 3-3 and Intermountain Christian to 5-3.
Wells barely slipped by Pahranagat Valley in their previous matchup last Friday, winning 28-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wells since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
