Apple Valley hasn't had much luck against Sultana recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Sun Devils will take on the Sultans at 3:15 p.m. Apple Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Apple Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Burroughs 21-1 on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Sun Devils, who have now won three games in a row.

Khloe Beserra and Makaylee Cerf were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Beserra pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Cerf struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Beserra went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Cerf went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Apple Valley let Madison Buzzard and Liza Lozano run wild. Buzzard went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Lozano went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits Lozano has posted since back in March. Ireland Jenkins also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Apple Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .700. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Sultana played in-conference for the first time on Wednesday and got just the result they were looking for. They walked away with a 15-10 win over Hesperia.
Sultana got a massive performance out of Lillian Ocegueda, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlotte Thompson, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Sultana's record is now 6-13-1. As for Apple Valley, the victory got them back to even at 9-9-1.
Sultana's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Apple Valley has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Sultana, though, as they've been averaging 9.5 hits. Given Apple Valley's sizable advantage in that area, the Sultans will need to find a way to close that gap.
