The biggest upset of the week belonged to Vista del Lago, who took down 135th ranked Cosumnes Oaks, 35-34. Matt Jimison threw for 355 yards and four touchdowns and ran for four yards in the win.
The Eagles extended the longest winning streak in Sierra Valley this week by beating the Wolfpack, 35-34. The victory was the eighth in a row for Vista del Lago.
Sean Tow was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 29 carries, he ran for 313 yards as Union Mine bested Cosumnes Oaks. Jake Horn also contributed to the rushing game with 23 yards on the ground.
Cooper was the best wideout in the league this week as the Eagles beat Ryan Gomes' team. Cooper tallied four receptions for 117 yards. Brad Rittenhouse helped Vista del Lago's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 112 yards.
Vista del Lago's Jimison and Rittenhouse have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Sierra Valley in both passing and receiving yards. Jimison has thrown for 1800 yards this season, while Rittenhouse, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 27 catches for 537 yards. The Diamondbacks' Tow leads the league in rushing yards with 692.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Wolfpack take on Liberty Ranch. At the moment, Cosumnes Oaks is in second, while the Hawks are in third.
The Eagles moved up to 171 from 230 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Vista del Lago was able to make move up by defeating the Wolfpack 35-34.
