After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Allen, The McKinney Lions were happy to have found some success on Friday. They managed a 26-22 win over Rock Hill. Given McKinney's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Rock Hill is ranked 139th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
McKinney can attribute much of their success to Bryan Jackson, who rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
Rock Hill's loss came despite strong showings from Christian Lewis and Victor Chionuma. Lewis rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown, while Chionuma gained 128 total yards and a touchdown.
McKinney's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.8 points per game. As for Rock Hill, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKinney will challenge Guyer on Friday. Guyer is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Rock Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Boyd at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Boyd is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
