The Mt. Vernon Rams can now show off 14 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They blew past Cahokia 97-31 at home. That 66 points margin sets a new team best for Mt. Vernon this season.
Mt. Vernon was led to victory by Tiara Johnson and Arwyn Wilkie. Johnson scored 20 points, while Wilkie scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilkie has scored all season. Melaina Zedalis was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Mt. Vernon pushed their record up to 21-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.2 points per game. As for Cahokia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Mt. Vernon will be playing in front of their home fans against Althoff Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Althoff Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Thursday. Cahokia will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Belleville West at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st.
