Whitesboro's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Scarbrough, who picked up 60 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one score on the ground. That's the most receiving yards Scarbrough has posted since back in August of 2024. Wyatt Winchester did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 82 receiving yards.
Whitesboro was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 351 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Palmer lost to Pottsboro on the road by a 57-43 margin on Friday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Whitesboro will have to contain Sutton Maddox as he made an impact in Palmer's last game. He rushed for 71 yards and three TDs on only ten carries, and also picked up 52 receiving yards.
Palmer's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Whitesboro, their record now sits at 4-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Whitesboro has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 202.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Palmer struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 255 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Whitesboro couldn't quite get it done against Palmer when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 41-33. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cisneros, who rushed for 241 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 135 yards and one TD while completing 73.3% of his passes.
