East Canton found their leader in underclassman Chelsea Barnett, who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Barnett scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Audrey Wade, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
East Canton's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Buckeye Trail, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
East Canton will head out on the road to face off against Tuscarawas Central Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tuscarawas Central Catholic is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. Buckeye Trail will be home for the holidays to greet Newcomerstown at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Newcomerstown is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
