Atkins has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Southern Guilford Storm at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Atkins took a serious blow against the Panthers, falling 64-27. Atkins was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-11.
Meanwhile, Southern Guilford's game on Tuesday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Northeast Guilford by a score of 43-32. The win was just what Southern Guilford needed coming off of a 59-37 defeat in their prior game.
Courtey Griffith had an outrageously good game as she scored 30 points. Another player making a difference was Charlee Slaughter, who scored eight points.
Atkins has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Southern Guilford, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-13.
