Meanwhile, Bishop O'Connell came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Eagles. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by just one run.
Noah Haught made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other pitching news, Bishop O'Connell got a great performance from Shota Fogus as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts Fogus has posted since back in March.
Back at the plate, Truman Leckey was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.
