Softball Recap: St. Ursula Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

While St. Ursula Academy put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Cooper. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 8-0 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

O Basil made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on A Bunner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was E Schauer, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The victory was the third in a row for St. Ursula Academy, bringing their record up to 17-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Cooper, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-18.

Looking ahead, St. Ursula Academy will square off against Turpin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cooper, they will face off against Assumption at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
