 In other batting news,  Tess Chatterly was  incredible,  going 4-for-5 with five  runs, two  stolen bases,  and five  RBI. Those  five  runs gave  her a new career-high.  Jennifer Mattorano was another key player,  scoring four  runs and  stealing three bases while going 4-for-5.
 Raton  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 18  hits. That's a new  trend for them: they were averaging 4.3  hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.4.
Raton has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-7 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 14.3 runs over those games. Taos' loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
 Raton will have some time to savor their  win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tucumcari at 3:00  p.m.  on April 8. As for Taos, they are taking a road trip to  square off against Espanola Valley  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
