The Franklin Patriots will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Glenn Rockets at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Franklin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Franklin strolled past Churchill with points to spare, taking the game 64-48. The win was just what Franklin needed coming off of a 55-29 defeat in their prior contest.
It was another big night for Mitch Cronyn, who scored 24 points along with three steals. Owen Pittenger was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Glenn, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-42 loss to Wayne Memorial on Friday. While losing is never fun, Glenn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 405th, while Wayne Memorial is ranked 182nd).
Franklin's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Glenn, they bumped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home.
Franklin was able to grind out a solid win over Glenn in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 44-36. Will Franklin repeat their success, or does Glenn have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
