Bishop Union is 7-0 against Mammoth since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Bishop Union Broncos will head out on the road to take on the Mammoth Huskies at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bishop Union can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 54-31 margin over Kern Valley. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Bishop Union has posted since December 8, 2023.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the match if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Mammoth's strategy against Kern Valley on Tuesday. Mammoth put the hurt on Kern Valley with a sharp 63-38 win. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Mammoth had established a 22 point advantage.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mammoth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Forest Daniels, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Matt Toomey, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Bishop Union and bumps their season record up to 11-6. As for Mammoth, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Everything went Bishop Union's way against Mammoth in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as Bishop Union made off with a 75-54 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop Union since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
