The Reedy Lions will be playing at home against the Newman Smith Trojans at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Reedy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
Last Friday, Reedy lost to The Colony at home by a decisive 72-53 margin. While losing is never fun, Reedy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 457th, while The Colony is ranked 36th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jack Chausse, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cooper Stevenson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Newman Smith can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Wakeland 72-52. Winning may never get old, but Newman Smith sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Reedy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Newman Smith, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Reedy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-46 loss to Newman Smith in their previous meeting back in December of 2023.
