The Marfa Shorthorns entered their tilt with the Dell City Cougars with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Marfa took down Dell City 55-38 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Marfa also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Dell City's loss came despite strong showings from Isaac Estrada and Reyes Espinoza. Estrada scored ten points along with three steals, while Espinoza scored 11 points along with three steals. Espinoza is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Josh Rector, who scored five points.
Marfa is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. As for Dell City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Marfa will be playing at home against Balmorhea at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Balmorhea is ranked 1195th, while Marfa is ranked 1205th). As for Dell City, they will head out on the road to square off against Fort Davis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Davis is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
