American Leadership Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaytlynn Elswood, who scored eight points. Zuri Smith was another key contributor, scoring three points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Waterford's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for American Leadership Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterford will challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Draper APA has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,024 points over their last 14 contests. American Leadership Academy is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (American Prep WV is ranked 127th, while the Eagles are ranked 121st).
