Softball Recap: Regis Has No Trouble Against Santiam

Regis barely beat Santiam the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams blew past the Wolverines 16-2 on Friday. Considering the Rams have won eight games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Addie Bishop made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Regis got a massive performance out of Olivia Adams, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Maddie Hendricks was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Regis hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matchups.

Regis' record now sits at 10-2. As for Santiam, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Regis beat the Wolverines by a score of 6-4 later that day.
