Hanover-Horton will challenge Jonesville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
If Hanover-Horton beats Jonesville with 18 runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Comets never let Vandercook Lake get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Lukas Nadell made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Hanover-Horton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, Hanover-Horton got a massive performance out of Devin Bevier, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The Comets are undefeated when Bevier posts two or more runs, but 2-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Arbuckle, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Hanover-Horton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vandercook Lake only posted an OBP of .278.
Meanwhile, Jonesville came into Wednesday's game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against Addison on Wednesday as they made off with a 12-2 win. The Comets not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 17-5).
Carsen Cornila was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Marshall Baker was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Hanover-Horton's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Jonesville, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hanover-Horton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Jonesville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Hanover-Horton was able to grind out a solid victory over Jonesville when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 6-2. Does Hanover-Horton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jonesville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
